A specially commissioned series of flags by artist Silvina Sisterna flying along Wellington Quay for the week of Culture Night 2026. The cyanotype and mixed-media works explore migration and belonging through the artist's daily walks along the Liffey, and can be viewed from the street on both sides of the river.

Threads of Imagination: Creative Embroidery and Textile Art Exhibition by the Irish Guild of Embroiderers

The Irish Guild of Embroiderers' Biennial Exhibition at dlr LexIcon, showcasing contemporary embroidery and textile art by Guild members on Level 3. Every piece explores fabric, colour, thread, fibre and texture with complete freedom of subject. Viewable during library opening hours.

Bronntanas 2026

Bronntanas 2026 is a free three-week arts festival celebrating the Irish language for children and families, running across Dublin from 14 September to 4 October. It features over 70 free events including drama, workshops, live music, storytelling, water sports, a 21-Day Family Challenge, and a closing Céilí Mór. Some events require booking.

Do It Together — Pallas Projects 1996–2026

A two-phase exhibition marking 30 years of Pallas Projects, featuring works by artists from significant moments in its history alongside invited contributions from Irish and international artist-run projects and spaces. Phase I (3–26 September) includes PUBLICS and Muine Bheag Arts; Phase II (1–24 October) features Jennie Moran/Luncheonette and Kunsthal Gent, with a new commission by Forerunner transforming the gallery space.

Art Exhibition 'Thinning the Veil'

An art exhibition by six contemporary Fingal artists, curated by Eamonn Maxwell, displayed throughout Malahide Castle. The works explore the castle as a site of memory, colonial entanglements and domestic history, marking fifty years since it opened to the public. Viewing is via guided castle tour, with free late-night performances, artist talks and tours on selected dates (advance booking required).

Automatic Control Engineering (ACE) Workshop

A hands-on ACE-Lab workshop at TU Dublin Bolton Street bringing practical, model-based control engineering to educators, researchers, industry professionals and students. Using portable low-cost hardware with MATLAB and Simulink, participants work through the full control-engineering design cycle from requirements capture to deployed control. This group is a parent and toddler group for young children.  It is held in Finglas Library every Thursday morning, hosted by our friends in Better Finglas. A morning jazz dance class led by Ben Walsh, running daily from 14–18 September 2026. Féile Bronntanas 2026: Leanaí Na Leabharlainne

An Irish-language playgroup for children aged 0–3 and their carers, celebrating Féile Bronntanas with facilitator Síne Nic An Ailí in Deansgrange's Children's Library. Families can play, chat, colour, read, sing songs and socialise as Gaeilge in a welcoming, informal space. Runs Thursdays 17 and 24 September and 1 October 2026.

Satellite Salon is a group exhibition curated by Colin Martin at The Library Project, showcasing approximately 60 works that represent a fully inclusive representation of members' work in printmaking. Saving for a Helicopter

A solo theatre show in which writer-performer Gráinne Curistan tells a deeply personal story of saving for a helicopter, a childhood dream shared with her father that grows complicated as adulthood and an inherited illness shape her future. Told with dark humour, music and honesty, it explores family, memory, working-class identity and hope. Runs 60 minutes and contains themes of bereavement.

SAOIRSE

SAOIRSE is a new Irish-language musical by Shauna Carrick, co-presented by the Abbey Theatre and Dublin Fringe Festival. Set in a Gaeltacht college facing closure, it follows Saoirse, Róisín and Aoife through first loves, losses and questions of identity. Performed in Irish with English access via the Sibrwd app; contains references to mental health.

When Julian Gaisford inherited Howth Castle in 1909 on the death of the last Lord Howth, he commissioned the young architect Edwin Lutyens to modernise and extend the ‘ancient pile’. In 2019 the Gaisford-St. Lawrence family sold the house and estate to Tetrarch Capital, and Daniel Eglington-Carey is now Resident Historian at Howth Castle. The Next New Low is a project from Brian Mooney. In the early nineties Brian was to be found behind the sound desk in the dark little venues of Dublin. Setting up the stage in The Underground and The Attic for bands like Whipping Boy, Pet Lamb, Luggage, The Wormholes, Felmale Hercules and a host of other bands that were blasting their way through those days. He fronted the by now legendary band The Idiots (Dirt Records) and was sound designer for a number of theatre productions most notably Pan Pan Theatre. EU Presidency Panel Discussion

The Dublin University Europa Society , in collaboration with Trinity College PolSoc and the Society for International Affairs (SOFIA) , are delighted to present this panel discussion focusing on the current Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The discussion will bring together professional and academic voices to break down the significance of the Irish Presidency, and to explore why it is important for citizens of both Ireland and the European continent. The speakers joining us on the night will be Mark Hanniffy , Director of the EU Presidency Policy Unit at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA); Professor Raj Chari , a lecturer in EU politics and Director of Trinity Research in Social Sciences (TRiSS); and Oisín Horgan , an analyst at the ECB and Trinity Scholar.
